Meteoritic amino acids as chemical tracers of parent body chemistries

چکیده

Abstract The analysis of the organic matter meteorites made it possible to identify over 70 amino acids (AA), including 8 those found in living organisms. However, their relative abundances vary drastically with type carbonaceous chondrite, even for isomers same chemical formula. In this report we address question whether difference may have its origin stability these according conditions they experienced when were formed and after. To end, rely on fact that most species observed so far interstellar medium (ISM), abundant isomer a given generic formula is stable one (minimum energy principle (MEP)). Using quantum density functional theory (DFT) simulations, investigate lowest alanine (Ala) butyric acid (ABA) neutral, protonated, zwitterionic structures together corresponding nitrile precursors. It shown β-alanine γ-ABA are protonated form whereas α-AA structures. different composition chondrites CIs CMs could be linked context aqueous alterations parent bodies.

Meteoritic Amino Acids: Diversity in Compositions Reflects Parent Body Histories

The analysis of amino acids in meteorites dates back over 50 years; however, it is only in recent years that research has expanded beyond investigations of a narrow set of meteorite groups (exemplified by the Murchison meteorite) into meteorites of other types and classes. These new studies have shown a wide diversity in the abundance and distribution of amino acids across carbonaceous chondrit...

Racemization of Meteoritic Amino Acids

Meteorites may have contributed amino acids to the prebiotic Earth, affecting the global ratio of right-handed to left-handed (D/ L) molecules. We calculate D/ L ratios for seven biological, α-hydrogen, protein amino acids over a variety of plausible parent body thermal histories, based on meteorite evidence and asteroid modeling. We show that amino acids in meteorites do not necessarily underg...

Partial transfer of enantioselective chiralities from a-methylated amino acids, known to be of meteoritic origin, into normal amino acids

There is overwhelming evidence that meteorites bring a-methylated amino acids to earth with some L(S) enantiomeric excess. How does that get transferred into normal biological molecules? In this brief account, we show that an a-methylated amino acid, D(R)-a-methylvaline, can react with pyruvate and phenylpyruvate salts in dry mixtures to form alanine and phenylalanine with L enantiomeric excess...

Differentiation of Metal-rich Meteoritic Parent Bodies

Introduction: There is now increasing evidence that the timescale between the formation of CAIs and of chondrules is < 1-2 Ma, and that the achondritic parent planets may have formed and differentiated within 2-4 Ma of the origin of the Solar System [1,2]. Long-lived chronometers (such as 187 Re

Performance of 2-Amino Tetraphenyl Porphyrin as Stationary Phase in RP-HPLC of Amino Acids

The search for new stationary phases has been one of the predominant concerns in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in order to achieve better resolutions, longer column lives, and reduce the time of analysis. A chromatographic packing for separation of underivatized amino acids (AAs) were prepared by dynamically coating 2-amino tetraphenyl prophyrin (atpp) on a C-18 reversed-pha...
